Each year the PSC Corporate College trains almost 12,000 members of the Polk County workforce. We prepare the workforce to drive economic development and make Polk County the place to live and work in Central Florida.
The PSC Corporate College was established in August of 2002 and was charged with implementing the PSC Strategic Plan for Workforce Development. The Workforce Education Council (WEC) was formed to assist in strategic planning and management of the Corporate College. The name of the College was changed to Polk State College on July 1, 2009, and the name of the WEC was changed to the Corporate College Advisory Board (CCAB).
Corporate College activities are driven by the CCAB, which acts as the advisory board to the Corporate College. With its guidance, benchmarks are set and goals achieved, readying the Corporate College to further expand its role in the community and the College.
Members of the CCAB represent a complete cross-section of large and small businesses, government and private sector operations, minority and non-profit interests, and include representatives of the major industrial sectors across Polk County.
The CCAB and the Corporate College continue to be a very powerful and positive partnership. Our objective for the future is to make available to business and industry specialized programs to help meet their training needs.
